This year at SXSW 2024, you cannot say the word "pitch" or "panel" if you're not officially with the their event. So naturally, everyone will be saying those words—especially the maverick founder types that start cool new companies. That's why I though it was brilliant when Funded House came up with their "Presenting. Information. To. Critical. Humans" program, aka "P-I-T-C-H."
After laughing out loud, I thought man, this needs to be plastered everywhere in Austin - let's "sticker the town" with a rad sticker. My brain immediately thought of the old 1970s vintage "Pitch In" campaign promoting trash clean up. It was a hip campaign and the bumpersticker became legendary. As kids, we even had that sticker on our skateboards and lockers.
And so, this radical P-I-T-C-H program logo was born.
Each year the city of Austin, Texas swells to capacity hosting the venerable SXSW music and tech conference the first week of March. This year DigitalPop will be at SXSW, partnering with Funded House, to provide branding and UX / UI consultations to the startups and "scale ups" in their portfolio–making cool companies even cooler.
